Dear Wendy,  Cc: Members mentioned above.
Guideline Notes from Benny.

I have invited my neighbour Neil Clegg who runs his own Web company and has designed our new NHW website for Epsom & Ewell.

1. Blog & Website.
As you have a domain name and as you are a big organisation, I strongly would fancy CRA have their own website which is more prestegious and can be accessed by a wider audience easily.

Blog spots are now becoming very popular as they are free to set up. You can post unlimited information with photographs, you can add other web links directly to blog pages, (examples attached to this blog note), you can have any number of members making changes to blog pages (given access and blog password). To get started with a blog, you need a gmail account/email address which again is free.

Blogs have a great range of template pages to choose your artwork for your HOME front page besides being able to creat your own.

No hosting required as it is all free.

As it is planned some of your members want to get involved with accessing the website or blog, freely making changes and publishing information anytime, you can combine a website with a blog link and pages added to the blog. Will discuss this at your meeting tomorrow morning.

Blog training and setting up a blog is very easy as it is well menu driven but in any case I would be happy to go through the full procedure in setting up, making changes, adding photographs or links etc., and once you get started you will see how easy it is.

To host a Website, you need special software or use several packages freely offered on the website from BT, Seriff, and many others. Of course if one has Dreamweaver, Front Page or any other package you would need a licence to use/share with other members.
In most cases, to host a good website, one has to go to a web designer/builder and in this case I would recommend Neil Clegg who is happy to assist but has suggested to me that perhaps combine it with a blog which would allow other members to make changes or add blog pages. (Open for further discussion).

I have used several packages in the past mostly from Seriff where I have a very long standing account as I am involved with making movies etc., and as such I get very big discounts. Right now I have obtained their latest web design software WebPlus X7 - Professional Websites Made Easy. I have the user manuals and Resource guide and besides this a well presented video clip on line available which helps one to learn and set up your own site.

I have not as yet commenced using this new package which I plan to do soon and would be happy to share my experience with others.

There is a good selection of Templates on the system free. Besides this I have purchased Template Plate 1 and 2 packages which are all free to use as I have paid for them.

Equally you can pay a few £'s for some special design templates so choice is unlimited. If you choose to take this route, you could also purchase the software package from Seriff for a very good discounted price which I will show you tomorrow.

You will all have to view the new website set up by Neil Clegg and as such best seek his advice and recommedation as he is happy to help and again, a website can be combined with a blog if you wish and if you want your other members to get involved.

2. New Software Package.
Open for discussion. Unlimited choice but suggest discuss with Neil Clegg who has offered to help.

3. Host Company.
Hosting is not too expensive as there is too much competition in the market place. I will be hosting my new website with SERIFF and here are some costs listed below. Depending on your usage. If you choose this route, I will discuss with seriff for a special discount.

Guideline rates.

4. Web Contents

To discussed with your team members on Tuesday 25th February 2014.

P.S. I have just added a few points open for discussion at your meeting tomorrow. Sorry for the delay as unfortunately with all the building works carried out at our home for the past 4 months, we are still struggling to get straight but all told, most issues will be resolved at the meeting once everyone know what exactly you want to have on your website, perhaps your members directory etc.

Also added a few web links.##
